THE ALMA GLOW

When the phenomenon Erewhon meets marine collagen.

From Los Angeles to social media, the smoothie has become an object of desire.

Stars, influencers, beauty, wellness, and millions of views: how did a simple drink become a cultural phenomenon?

And above all... why not imagine our own signature smoothie?

A few years ago, ordering a smoothie essentially meant choosing between strawberry-banana and mango-passion.

Then Erewhon changed the rules.

This Californian brand has become much more than a high-end organic food store: it now embodies in Los Angeles a whole universe where nutrition, wellness, beauty, luxury and digital culture meet. And in this story, the smoothie has changed its status.

He is no longer just a drink.

He has become an object of desire.

When Hailey Bieber transforms a smoothie as a cultural phenomenon

The most emblematic example is probably Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie, associated with Hailey Bieber.

Pink, creamy, strawberry-stained, and immediately recognizable in a photograph: he had all the necessary ingredients to conquer social media.

And that’s exactly what happened. Vogue reports that Erewhon sells about 40,000 Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothies per month. The brand has multiplied collaborations with personalities and creators, to the point that the celebrity smoothie has become a form of prestige product in its own right.

Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Miranda Kerr, Kendall Jenner and others have also been part of the signature smoothie culture.

The smoothie has become media.

The genius of Erewhon? Having understood that we also eat with our eyes

A smoothie can be delicious.

But if it is also spectacular, identifiable in a second and associated with a universe to which one dreams of belonging, something changes.

We don’t just want to drink it anymore.

We want to photograph it.

Share it.

Let it taste.

Reproduce.

The phenomenon is part of a much broader trend: that of functional foods, at the frontier between food, beauty, and wellness.

Vogue Business specifically cites Hailey Bieber’s Erewhon smoothie as one of the iconic examples of this meeting between food and beauty from within.

And that’s precisely where the idea interested me.

Because behind the aesthetics lies a real question:

Can we create a spectacular drink without sacrificing its nutritional consistency?

I felt like taking on the challenge.

Not by copying Erewhon.

But with this great idea: making a smoothie a real signature.

It had to be beautiful.

Very beautiful.

That we wanted to cross the screen for a snack.

But also that it be greedy, balanced in its flavors and built around ingredients that I really wanted to find there.

And her name stuck.

THE ALMA GLOW

Signature Collagen Smoothie

· Fruits rouges · Myrtille · Açaï · Avocat · Citron vert · Gingembre · Collagène marin Naticol® ·

A smoothie with raspberry-pink and purple shades, with a thick, silky texture, crossed by a glaze of red fruits that comes to draw the walls of the glass.

But behind her appearance lies her true signature ingredient:

5 grammes de Collagen Marin Premium Cellula Pharm

Why collagen is at the heart of THE ALMA GLOW?

The last thing I wanted to do was add collagen to a recipe just so I could write down the word collagen under its name.

This ingredient needed to make sense.

So I chose Phron Pharm’s Premium Marine Collagen, formulated from peptides of hydrolyzed Naticol®marine collagen.

One dose provides 5g of pure marine collagen. The formula has no added additives: according to Phryphem, 5 g of powder corresponds to 5 g of collagen.  The brand also indicates a molecular weight of about 2,000 daltons.

Naticol® is a hydrolysate of type I marine collagen. It provides, in particular, the amino acids characteristic of collagen such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. Phra’im also states that Naticol® benefits from scientific documentation and clinical studies, particularly around the skin and joints.

And it has another advantage for our recipe, much more greedy:

it knows how to be forgotten.

The powder is presented as ultra-fine, tasteless and odorless, and easily dispersible in a beverage.

Raspberry can therefore remain intensely raspberry.

Lime retains its acidity.

Ginger retains its character.

And collagen truly becomes a recipe ingredient, rather than a powder that is desperately trying to mask.

Another point I like: Phra Pham says their collagen comes from sustainably caught fish and is Friend of the Sea certified.

In THE ALMA GLOW, collagen is therefore not an accessory.

It is part of the signature.

THE ALMA GLOW … at home

for a large glass

The Smoothie

ul>

  • 80 g frozen berries
  • 40 g frozen blueberries
  • 1⁄4 ripe avocado
  • strong>5 g Collagen Marin Premium Naticol® Nucléa Pharm
  • 1 small teaspoon of pure or unsweetened frozen acai powder
  • 1 teaspoon chia seed
  • 150 to 180 ml unsweetened vegetable drink... my favorite is coconut water
  • the juice of 1⁄2 lime
  • a small piece of fresh ginger
  • a few ice cubes

And then there’s what makes all the difference...

Le ALMA GLAZE

Because a signature smoothie deserves its signature gesture.

Crush a few thawed raspberries until you have an intense, slightly syrupy red mixture.

Place it inside the glass and slide it irregularly against the sides.

Don’t try to achieve perfection.

These red lines that appear in the glass are precisely what will give each ALMA GLOW its identity.

Put the glass on ice for a few minutes.

Meanwhile, blend all smoothie ingredients until smooth, thick and velvety.

Then pour the mixture very gently into the center of the glass to preserve the mottling.

The pink of the red fruits then meets the deep red of the Alma Glaze, while the blueberry and acai bring some darker shades.

And there... before tasting, look.

Because we also eat with our eyes.

Why a little acai... but not a whole bowl?

The acai berry brings that little, very L.A. wellness note that I wanted to find in THE ALMA GLOW.

But I wanted to use it as an accent, not as the base of the smoothie.

A small amount of pure acai or unsweetened frozen acai powder is enough to provide its natural pigments and polyphenols while naturally deepening the color.

Same philosophy for fruits.

We don’t have to pile up bananas, dates, mangoes, honey, apple juice, and agave syrup to make a gourmet smoothie.

Here, each ingredient has its own function.

Avocado contributes to this incredibly velvety texture.

Red fruits and blueberries give the aromatic structure and notably provide anthocyanins.

Chia seeds provide fiber and alpha-linolenic acid.

Lime gives tension.

Ginger brings that lively small finish that prevents the whole from becoming too wise.

And Collagen Marin Premium Sima Pharm provides the signature 5 g of Naticol® collagen peptides.

And because luxury also hides in the details...

You can’t talk about Erewhon without talking about the image.

THE ALMA GLOW deserved better than a disposable cup.

I imagine it in a large reusable transparent glass, high and slender, clean enough to let the smoothie itself become the setting.

The glass is not a detail.

Its transparency reveals the Alma Glaze, the different shades of red fruits and this almost pastry-like texture.

A glass straw completes the whole.

And on the container?

Almost nothing.

Le ALMA GLAZE

Signature Collagen Smoothie

All in golden letters. Because when a product has enough personality, it doesn’t need to shout to be noticed.

Finally, what does Erewhon tell us?

That a food can become an experience.

That a recipe can have an identity.

That a container can become desirable.

And above all, that nutrition, beauty, pleasure, and sophistication are not necessarily opposite universes.

But there’s one key thing to keep in mind.

No smoothie will give you the face of a celebrity.

No single superfood is a health strategy.

And no food supplement, however high-quality, replaces a varied, balanced diet adapted to each individual.

That’s precisely why I like the idea of THE ALMA GLOW.

It doesn’t promise miracles. He proposes something else: transforming a nutritional gesture into an experience.

Taking beautiful ingredients.

Choose them with requirement. Create pleasure.

Add an aesthetic dimension.

And make a simple smoothie into a little ritual you really want to rediscover.

Los Angeles has its celebrity smoothies.

We now have ours.
